Reliving the past with the Jaguar Mk2

I remember my Mother often talking about what cars her parents owned as they grew up, her first car and anything that had some heart and soul to it later on. Her first car was a Morris Minor and her car which had a character was a Mini, the latter had a story about the 1.0 litre engine dying and being buried in the front garden with a 1.3 litre engine being dropped in as a replacement – which anyone who has driven a Mini will know turns it into a supercharged go-kart! Funnily both of these classic cars are part of the Vanilla Classics collection for hire (and it wasn’t my decision to buy them).

It is a great pleasure to read the following customer experience, because not only do we make days to remember, but I believe we also help create days where you remember the past…

“My son Ross hired your Mark 2 jag on Sunday. I wanted to tell you how much we enjoyed having it for the day for my Father’s 80th birthday.

He owned a Mark 1 in the 1960s. When it was sadly written off he kept the jag off the bonnet and it has been a paper weight in his office ever since. It was an inspired idea of Ross' to hire your Jaguar Mark 2. He turned up at my parents with a throaty roar. We had blindfolded my dad and led him to the jag on the bonnet and put his hand on it. It was actually a really emotional moment for him.

Ross then drove my parents to Goodwood hotel where it was much admired by everyone and many, many photos were taken. It helped that the sun shone all day and it was truly a great day spending time with the car and meant so much to him. Sadly we had to return it at the end of the day.
