"If you are reading this then you have either mis typed something weird in Google, or you are the person I used to be... We "like" cars.....
As people we change as we get older, our tastes change and our personalities change due to the experiences we have in our varied lives..... My first favourite car as early as i can remember was a ford Capri... (yes I am over forty years old! )
My first favourite drink was cider (bear with this it will make sense I promise!) at this time my dad drank beer, I couldn't stand the taste and thought there was no way I will ever drink that stuff! I then got to like beer (a little too much some might say) and my Dad moved onto red wine, again I couldn't stand the taste and thought there is no way I am ever going to drink that stuff...
Much like my taste in cars there are few alcoholic drinks I don't like now....
I have owned luxury cars, Jaguar XJ6, Granada Ghia x, Audi A6. I have owned 4x4's Discovery, Toyota Surf, Jeep, Isuzu Trooper. I have owned fast cars, Nissan 300zx, Nissan Skyline, Mitsubishi FTO, RS turbo Escort.
The favourite car grew from the Ford Capri to the Lamborghini Diablo and having had a track day in the Diablo I thought the car bucket list was well and truly ticked....
Little did I know.... The E type has always held a certain fascination for me due to its history and unbelievably sexy shape.. But I never thought i would get the chance... Until yesterday....
It's totally changed my perspective on any car ever made, it is the pinnacle of design, engineering and so beautifully British .... Whizzing along the leafy avenues, heads turning everywhere we went I felt like a sober Charlie Sheen leaving rehab for the fifth time this month, I was a millionaire, I could do anything now I was holding this steering wheel in my hands, I ruled the world....
A few roundabouts later, still turning heads I was no longer a playboy, I was sharing the same view that so many race winners had in the past, I was a Le Mans winner, I was a World Champion and my name would be of legend in years to come, all thanks to this stunning motor vehicle.
They say smiling is contagious, if that's the case then I started a UK epidemic of seismic proportions..... A pandemic..... If you smiled yesterday and weren't sure why it was because of me and the E Type, it is that good.
Never before has a car gotten so deep under my skin, I have to own one.
I no longer like cars, my name is John and I am a Jag -aholic, I am addicted to the E Type Jaguar, ...forever......
If you have ever considered driving one go do it now, Vanilla can make dreams you didn't know you had come alive just by handing you a set of car keys....
But beware, I warn you in advance ....you will never ever get over it....."
John
