More Information
Mini Cooper S
Ours was built in 1964, when Cooper produced two models specifically for circuit racing. The first version - our 970cc Cooper S, was quickly followed by a 1275cc engine, and only 963 cars were produced with the 970cc unit.
So, we have a really rare version of this classic which you’ll have great fun driving. It’s totally restored and in great condition, with Almond Green paintwork and Old English white roof. When you open the door, it almost feels like you’re getting into a new car, with beautifully upholstered seats - and the noise of the engine when you turn the key takes you straight back to the days of The Beatles and flared trousers !.
If you’ve never driven a Mini, you really should! When it was launched back in 1959 the Mini set completely new standards for road holding and fun driving performance, and even now is guaranteed to put a smile on your face.
The original Mini Cooper was the result of the collaboration with John Cooper, owner of the Cooper Car Company and designer and builder of Formula One and rally cars. He had seen the potential of the Mini for competition and worked with Alec Issigonis to create the world famous rally car.
