1. Where is Vanilla Classics located?
We can be found at PMC, Fordingbridge Industrial Park, Barnham Road, Barnham, Nr Chichester PO22 0HD. Please go to the Contacts Page for a map.
2. Can I come and see the cars before I book?
Of course! We’re open 8am to 5pm Monday to Friday by prior arrangement. We wouldn’t want you to make a wasted trip so please telephone 01243 545725 to make sure the cars are not all out on hire.
3. What age do you have to be to hire a car?
25 years and over, up to 75 years, with a minimum of two years driving experience
4. Can more than one person drive a car?
Yes, there is a charge of £25 for each additional driver. We’ll need to see driving licences and proof of address too. PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL DRIVERS MUST BE REGISTERED WITH US; IF THEY ARE NOT, NOT ONLY IS IT ILLEGAL, BUT THE VEHICLE WILL NOT BE INSURED, SO YOU WILL BE PERSONALLY LIABLE FOR ANY COSTS OR DAMAGE.
5. Is there a mileage limit?
For a daytime hire the mileage is 100 miles; for other hires, the allowed mileage is 100 miles per night away.
Extra miles will be charged at £1 per mile.
6. Can we take the car abroad?
We do not allow our cars to be taken abroad. Our insurance only covers the UK and Northern Ireland.
7. What happens if we break down?
You are fully covered by our AA Roadside Assistance, 24 hours a day.
8. What methods of payment are accepted?
For bookings we accept most major credit or debit cards, we do NOT take AMEX. For security deposit, we can also accept cash on the day.
9. What Insurance do I need?
Your booking with us includes comprehensive motor vehicle insurance for the car and driver(s). Your personal possessions and other items not part of the cars’ permanent equipment are NOT covered, neither is cancellation or curtailment, and we strongly recommend you have your own insurance to cover this. Our motor vehicle insurance cover has a £500 excess which you’ll be liable for should there be a claim.
10. What’s the £750 Security Deposit for?
In the unfortunate case of an accident or damage to the car, the security deposit will be used to pay for the damage and/or the motor vehicle insurance excess. We may require an additional sum to cover the uninsured losses if greater than the insurance excess, and again recommend you take out independent travel insurance to cover this.
11. What’s the process for making a booking?
Make the booking online, or give us a call if you prefer.
12. Do the convertibles have soft tops?
All of our convertibles have a soft top and you will be shown how this is taken off and put on again during the handover.
13. Do you offer a delivery/collection service?
