Morrir Minor Becomes a Star in Music Video

Posted by @ 13:58 11th Nov 2014

In July we were approached by Ed Prosek, a Brighton based musician, with regards one of our gorgeous Classic Cars to be used in a music video. His choice of vehicle was our wonderful 1952 Morris Minor, aka Miss Marple! As we always say when we hand this car over to customers – ‘There are less controls on this car than on a mobile phone!’

The weather was on their side and the glorious South Downs with their spectacular views never let anyone down. Ed was delighted with how the shoot went:

I just wanted to extend my deepest gratitude to you for helping us out so much and being so lovely and understanding!

The Morris Minor was truly brilliant and we had an absolute blast driving around in it getting all the shots we needed!

When we get a working version of the video together we’ll send it through so you guys can see your lovely vehicle in action, but I really just wanted to take a moment to say thank you for helping us out.

Reunited with my dream car after 16 years

Posted by @ 10:31 14th Aug 2014

It was such a delight to be driving a Morris Minor again, 16 years since I used to own one. This was a 40th birthday present from my husband! 'Miss Marple' was stunning- how wonderful to have a Series II convertible on the road and driving like she was new. The whole experience was super, thank you for making it possible for me to have a day with my dream car!

Kind regards,
Caroline and Jamie

White Stag experience was a Triumph

Posted by @ 11:26 11th Aug 2014

Just to say a big thank you for our experience with yourselves and the Stag, it was fantastic from the moment that Jac greeted us to the unfortunate moment of having to hand the car back.  The whole day has been great including the red route that you had on your web page.  The car was brilliant and sounded great going around Petworth and through the tunnel on the A27!

It was a great way to celebrate our wedding anniversary and we will certainly being using yourselves again and will recommend you to anyone who asks.

Again thank you.

Marc – Organiser

“Arranging a days hire of the Cobra as a surprise for my parents has been very easy and stress free. The team at Vanilla Classics made sure everything was taken care of and in place ready for the day. I would have no hesitation in booking with them again in the future. Many thanks for your help!

Marc

Pete & Chris – Recipient

The staff were very friendly and professional and we were made to feel welcome. The Cobra was awesome and driving it (and listening to it!) was a real experience. All in all, smiles all day! Many thanks.

British Forces

Posted by @ 12:30 4th Apr 2014

Where would we be without the British Forces?

When I was at school (don’t ask how many years ago that was!) I did, very briefly, consider a career in the army as a dog handler – only to realise that it wasn’t just about doing assault courses and training a dog to be mighty clever but that it was also extremely dangerous and I don’t even like balloons in case they go pop! I’m not the greatest dog trainer either – my 4 year old Labrador Retriever has only just grasped the fact that when she retrieves a ball it’s rather a good idea if she puts it down…

In support of our heroes we are offering 10% discount via britishforcesdiscounts.co.uk and defencediscount.co.uk

Miss Marple's Grand Day Out

Posted by @ 15:24 24th Mar 2014

Dear Jax, Claire & Rich,

We feel very privileged to have had the opportunity to spend the day with Miss Marple. We had such a fun time from beginning to end. The weather stayed fair and we managed to go topless in the afternoon. We got lost a couple of times trying to find the White Horse nr Steep.  On one occasion we ended up at a dead end….a farmyard! Amazingly we found the pub, which was really lovely with lots of cosy nooks and crannies. The staff were very friendly and the food delicious. It wasn’t the cheapest of Sunday Lunches (£12.95) but you get what you pay for. After lunch we headed back to return Miss Marple to her rightful owner.

The whole experience was fantastic and we would thoroughly recommend Vanilla Classics. A very professional company offering a superb customer friendly service.

Once again, many thanks and hope to see you again one day.

Kind Regards

Mike, Shirley, Colin & Mary

Tyrell's Crisps Competition

Posted by @ 15:00 10th Feb 2014

We are addicted to Tyrell’s pork scratchings!! They are currently running a competition and the prize is a weekend in either Miss Marple, our 1100 or Frogeye Sprite. Good Luck!

Zebedee was cosy and warm; he has just returned from an event at the NEC in Birmingham where he revelled in all the attention, he’s so vain!! He saved his legs and took the easy route, transported by Joe from Move My Motor considering he will be 50 this year (Zebedee, not Joe!) we will forgive his laziness!!

Winter means health checks and MOT time; Rolls & Merc both passed with flying colours last week and Bongo, Zeb and the MK2 are booked in for this week. Lee from LMD Vehicle Repairs collects and returns the vehicles for us; I guess he enjoys having a drive in 24 various vehicles for free…..

Please DO NOT mention curtain hooks to me! It’s deep clean time for all the buses. Curtains out, hooks out, washing machine, airer, iron, hooks in, re-hang, pleat. Tries the patience of a saint!

Miss Marple, our Morris Minor, and the MK2 both attended the same wedding last weekend. We were a little concerned about the high winds and Miss Marple’s roof (bear in mind she is 64 years old) but she returned yesterday unscathed; she loves a good wedding! We did ask the groom if he wished to upgrade to the Rolls but were clearly told ‘No Miss Marple and the wedding will be off!’ The car was the bride’s guest of honour!!

The Healey is our busiest car this week; out on day hires on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The AC Cobra is also booked for Saturday so fingers crossed for dry weather for them all.

West Sussex Gazette is well worth purchasing at the moment – the whole back page is all about the Dream Team here at Vanilla Splits and Classics!! The lovely Grant Ford popped in to meet us and has written a fantastic article.

Despite the dreadful weather we’ve all experienced recently we are just extremely thankful here at Vanilla HQ that we haven’t been affected directly. As a small company we empathise with the devastating effects the weather tolls on lives and livelihoods and hope to see some drier conditions before too long.

If any of you want to visit Vanilla please call us on 01243 545 725 to arrange a time; can’t guarantee there will be any pork scratchings left though….

Best wishes from The Dream Team.

Reliving the past with the Jaguar Mk2

Posted by @ 13:58 24th Jan 2014

I remember my Mother often talking about what cars her parents owned as they grew up, her first car and anything that had some heart and soul to it later on. Her first car was a Morris Minor and her car which had a character was a Mini, the latter had a story about the 1.0 litre engine dying and being buried in the front garden with a 1.3 litre engine being dropped in as a replacement – which anyone who has driven a Mini will know turns it into a supercharged go-kart! Funnily both of these classic cars are part of the Vanilla Classics collection for hire (and it wasn’t my decision to buy them).

It is a great pleasure to read the following customer experience, because not only do we make days to remember, but I believe we also help create days where you remember the past…

“My son Ross hired your Mark 2 jag on Sunday. I wanted to tell you how much we enjoyed having it for the day for my Father’s 80th birthday.

He owned a Mark 1 in the 1960s. When it was sadly written off he kept the jag off the bonnet and it has been a paper weight in his office ever since. It was an inspired idea of Ross' to hire your Jaguar Mark 2. He turned up at my parents with a throaty roar. We had blindfolded my dad and led him to the jag on the bonnet and put his hand on it. It was actually a really emotional moment for him.

Ross then drove my parents to Goodwood hotel where it was much admired by everyone and many, many photos were taken. It helped that the sun shone all day and it was truly a great day spending time with the car and meant so much to him. Sadly we had to return it at the end of the day.

Thank you again for the experience,

Abbie”

Top down in December? Why ever not?!

Posted by @ 16:05 19th Dec 2013

Another happy customer who took the Frogeye out in December and enjoyed having the hood down - just what the Vanilla Classics experience is all about!

We had a fabulous time on Sturdsy and thank you for facilitating that. The weather was so kind and we had the hood down all day - what an experience. Sea air, bonfires, farm yards, being able to appreciate the tall buildings from the open roof and wind in our heair - just fabulous. We did the coast, countryside and Downs, county pub and pretty villages. Just a very special day - thank you.

Hope to see you again some time. Ever thought of vintage motorbilke hire ?

Kind regards and happy christmas

Miss Marple and the grand picnic at New Forest

Posted by @ 15:39 14th Nov 2013

Quite often when we see return customers it means they have come back to take a powerful car out, such as the AC Cobra. In Dave’s case he was going to be hard pushed to top the sporty E-Type that he first took for a spin, so his return visit to us meant a slower pace of life and enjoying the finer things in life with the family joining in for a grand picnic at New Forest.

morris minor and cows

“Having hired your fabulous E type Jag for my 50th, my wife looking to do something fun for my 52nd and also to mark my Dad’s 80th, hit on the idea of a 1950s style picnic and Miss Marple was the obvious transport for the day. Vanilla Classics always make the day special – I love the appropriate mood music in Jax’s office and my Dad loved looking at the other cars and campers in the garage. It turns out that he took his driving test at the age of 23 in a Moggy Minor just like Miss Marple. With four seats, my wife Lesley and our Daughter Natalie, could come along too.

morris minor and picnic at new forest

With the wicker picnic basket and a tartan rug in the boot we headed off to the New Forest, taking the roof down when we arrived on the quieter A and B roads. Having mastered the dark art of double declutching we all enjoyed the ride, just as much as the lovely food with lashings of ginger beer. Afternoon tea was taken at Lymington and we had fun looking at the yachts in the harbour.

We all felt sad as we got closer to Chichester as we had fallen for Miss Marple and her quaint, old–fashioned ways.

Thank you Vanilla Classics for another memorable day.

Dave”

AC Cobra makes an appearance at the Earls Court

Posted by @ 15:25 14th Nov 2013

Attendees at the recent IP Expo at Earls Court had the chance to win an AC Cobra. Our very own AC Cobra was placed outside the venue to help promote the competition and the hire got Paul’s creative juices flowing after driving the Cobra to the venue.

Such a fantastic competition – imagine owning an AC Cobra to park in your garage!

Thank you ever so much to Paul for putting his thoughts and feelings down on paper…

AC Cobra an IP Expo

“The thing that struck me more than the many things that struck me when i first sat in the AC cobra was the dominant position of the gear stick. It was long and fat and sat, it appeared, too high in the car. It was clearly important then, but when acclimatising to a car with a strong clutch, brakes that needed leaning on and steering that made you wish you'd eaten more spinach, the initial question as to the position of that 'shifter' remained unresolved.

Engine rumbling, roof off, and alone in the car I realised this drive, as every drive I suspect must be, was really an event: there is nothing else to do in this car but drive. Too noisy for music or talking, which would anyway only be exchanging expletives. It took very few miles to feel comfortable and confident enough to start really pressing the loud pedal and with it the need to grab yet another gear. What happens once the car is warm and pushing on is quite brilliant. It sounds amazing and is great to be a part of. As you lift while engaging the next gear you get an awesome 'dirty' burble – this car is making itself heard even when you're not pressing the throttle - and then an immediate shove as the throttle comes back in. Ha! It's fantastic.

Your eyes are glued to the road as you get shaken around - you'd have to be a brave man to race this car - it's now blindingly obvious why that gear stick sits where it does: so your hand spends the least amount of time off the steering wheel as possible. It's so much fun – even, or perhaps especially, as it's also so agricultural compared with today's cars. It's all wham, 'grab' and bang. Hilarious school boy fun that guarantees smiles on faces. I think i'll go back for more!”

Miss Marple, hired for a special wedding day

Posted by @ 11:41 8th Nov 2013

Like so many of our customers who hire our cars for the wedding day, once they are married life is still as busy as ever! Time waits for no man, as the saying goes... Here at Vanilla Classics time flies by and it is lovely to receive emails out of the blue like this one below.

Paul and Chloe hired our 1952 Morris Minor for their wedding day in Beaulieu and just sent these lovely photos taken by their photographer Ann-Kathrin Koch.

"Thank you providing Miss Marple for our wedding day on 27 April 2013 at the Master Builders Hotel in Beaulieu: she is a stunning car in immaculate condition and my wife(!) adored being delivered to both the first look and wedding venue in her. The delivery and collection process was also seamless - it was great to have one less thing to worry about on a very busy day!"

700 miles, 5 days and 1 AC Cobra

Posted by @ 14:49 17th Oct 2013

We just received this lovely email from Switzerland after Daniel spent 5 days on the road with the AC Cobra. As always we are thrilled to hear back from our customers, especially when our cars inspire them to want to sell something as racey as their Lotus Exige - maybe he will the next time he hires from us!

"I've enjoyed it so much to drive the Cobra, and we really did lots of miles (700 miles in 5 days). And every mile was SPECIAL! First, it was very different, the car really is special in every way. Nothing near what I've ever driven before - and I've driven Lotus, Morgan and many other classics before. With every mile more, I got more confident and got used to the car, and to how it behaves. Soon after a couple of hours, it was pure joy for the rest of the trip!

The sound it makes is a huge concert. It's rock, it's punk, it's opera. And I'm the conductor with the throttle. Fantastic. Shifting gears and the steering is brutal, it's pure 70s engineering, and in every way a demanding but wonderful and unforgettable experience.

This car has a soul, it has drama, it has beauty, it has ecstasy, it's a pure legend. It's dangerous too, because it's addictive! It's so addictive that I even wanted to sell my Lotus Exige S1 after our return to Switzerland. Thankfully my wife talked me out of this ;-)

My wife was a fantastic navigator (and a fantastic wife as always ;-)) and she did enjoy the trip as much as I did. What a happy week that was for us!

My conclusion for any future customer: If you are a petrol head and if you have any chance to afford to drive this car, even if it's only for a day or two, do it. No regret, I promise!

My bottom line is: forget the 'plant a tree, have a child, write a book' - stuff. No. Look no further. Drive this car!

We'll be back!

Kind Regards,

Daniel"

The white Stag joins the First Night Riders

Posted by @ 10:26 26th Jul 2013

Our White Stag was recently hired by Andy Hayles as part of a fund raising event called the First Night Riders, which raises money for a charity called The Theatrical Guild.

Andy travelled from London to Oxford and then onto Cambridge before heading home. The ride is spread out over four days and we have spotted that the participants enjoyed themselves immensely!

Here is Andy’s diary of events…

Thursday I picked up The Stag near Chichester. Remember when dashboards were really made of wood!? I then made my way to Flints Theatrical Ironmongery Shop off the Walworth Rd in South East London - a slightly scary place to park a classic car which doesn’t lock up securely!
Friday

So Friday morning we set off from the Roundhouse, having grabbed a bacon sarnie and a tour of the auditorium. I got to tell everyone my story about the cunning roof sandwich we made when we refurbed the building so that the new 20 Tonne payload could be supported. Probably the only time I’ll ever have Phyllida Law in my audience! Then we were zooming out of London via Henley and Marlowe with Sarah and Georgia of the 5th Estate in our jump seats...to the Oxford Playhouse.

Then it was off on our Oxford to Cambridge cross-country run. A twisty-turny route that saw us driving right across Woburn Abbey’s deer park. There was something a bit Trojan about being inside a Stag in a Deer Park!

After nearly 4 hours of bouncing around we arrived at the Festival Theatre in Cambridge. A unique place for three reasons :
1. It’s one of the UK’s oldest theatres - 1814.
2. It featured the work of Terence Grey - one of UK theatre’s great innovators in the 1920s - and much of the design and engineering he created (permanent cyc and revolve) are still in the building.
3. It’s now a Buddhist Centre!

Iain Mackintosh and John Earl guided us around the space - which is an intoxicating mix of a Marie Celeste theatre, an amazing potential found space - and a mellow Buddhist meditation studio!

Iain’s view is that it’s vitally important that along with Bristol Old Vic and Bury St Edmonds that the Festival Theatre is made accessible again and brought back into the theatrical fold!

We’ll have to wait and see - but it was certainly quite something to be in a space much talked about and that more than lived up to the hype!

So after a couple of beers and a good sleep in the spartan but entirely adequate Premier Inn on Friday night - Steve and I headed home leaving the bikers to head North.

From Switzerland, to Paris, to England!

Posted by @ 13:29 25th Jul 2013

One of our recent hires travelled from Switzerland to Paris to join friends before coming over by Ferry to hire the Jaguar Mk2 and AC Cobra. From here in West Sussux they then took to the B roads and country lanes of the Isle of Wight.

We had great fun communicating with Gilbert and were delighted to receive the following Email from him. Even though his written English is rather broken we hope that you, just as we did, can feel his enthusiasm about driving these fantastic classic cars.

Hello Claire,

It is now ten days since we returned from England.
Vanilla Classics has enabled us to live great moments the flying car that marked the automotive legend and always perfectly groomed. Also thank you to all the team Vanilla Classics for its hospitality and trust. She made us discover two completely different philosophies cars and the opposite one another.

Namely: one that expresses the class, elegance and distinction throughout Columbia with 12 cylinders at once creamy and sports, in a word well-born Jaguar and very noticeable.

Other: brute force, voice and raw temperament of a bad boy he must master without fear and without that support relaxation of any kind ... a true American Cobra.

But all the two were very exciting because unlike today's cars it does not behave but they fly!

Today we know that we will return for a new adventure with them.

But we will wait for it to open the airline EasyJet 's 2014 Geneva - Bournemouth BOH.

We will contact you at that time and maybe by then Vanilla Classics has expanded its range of service with the opportunity to rent their vehicles for a week with unlimited mileage which we consider to go to Lizard Point and Land's End by small roads we already know!

Meanwhile I address you, dear Claire, and which the whole team Vanilla Classics best regards and a fun souvenir photo attached.

Riley 1949 strikes again!

Posted by @ 12:44 27th Nov 2012

I hired Lord Riley as a surprise for my husband-to-be on our wedding day. The look on his face when my son handed him the key and he first saw the car was priceless. Lord Riley was a star and made the day extra special for both of us. Our only regret was that our weekend was so busy that we didn't have enough time to fully enjoy the Riley experience. We'll definitely hire Lord Riley out again and probably also one of the other cars now that my husband has seen what's available.

Thanks

Roll Royce Silver Shadow

Posted by @ 11:37 13th Nov 2012

"My wife treated me to the hire of the magnificent 1978 Rolls Royce Silver Shadow 2. Our day out was one that I shall never forget. As soon as I left the showroom I realised how easy it was to drive and not daunting at all. The comfort is superb it attracted much interest along our route. We chose a circular route via Goodwood, Petworth, Arundel, The Witterings and ending up at Bosham all of which are beautiful places to visit. It was a round trip of 91 miles and the petrol cost was £43.00 which was not bad at all for a Rolls Royce. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to drive one of the best cars in the world."

"Dear Claire,

Sorry for our late reply but I had my first day in the office on Monday and had to go through a Himalaya of work and emails after 3 weeks holidays 

Yes, we had a safe journey home after a wonderful time in your beautiful country. Highlights were, of course, to have our own classic car for 2 days and the Goodwood-weekend. Many, many thanks for the tickets for Friday. We could get a good first overview then and thus enjoyed our grandstand seats on Saturday. This event is really overwhelming and impressing. We will never forget it! And we sure will come back, also to hire a nice car from you! We already reported to some friends and they are also interested to make the experiences by themselves…

It was really a great pleasure to meet you! Take care and thanks a lot for your efforts!"
Best regards from Germany

"We had great fun reliving our youth! We owned 2 MGBs in the 1970s and went on our honeymoon in one (which we later sold to my brother in law – he still has it, but it hasn’t been on the road for quite a few years. He is restoring it, but at snail’s pace.)"

Riley at Goodwood Revival 2012

Posted by @ 14:14 21st Sep 2012

Stephen returned for the second year running to hire a classic car for Goodwood Revival. 2011 he took Miss Marple our 1952 Morris Minor and this year he travelled from California once again and hired 'Lord Riley'. He is planning on returning next year with a group from the US Porsche club and inviting two of our pre 66 VW Camperans to join them.

'Gladys Emmanuel' 1959 Morris Minor

Posted by @ 13:17 14th Sep 2012

"I had a lovely day in the Morris Minor which I have named 'Gladys Emmanuel' after the district nurse in 'Open All Hours' as she was the proud owner of one also.

The whole experience was wonderful and brought back fond memories of travelling in my Mother's Morris Traveller as a child. The only difference being that I was in the driving seat which was so much more comfortable than the back seat (but then constant fighting with my brother possibly had something to do with that!)

Anyway, my thanks again - we will be back for a spin in another of your cars very soon!"

Kind regards

"If you are reading this then you have either mis typed something weird in Google, or you are the person I used to be... We "like" cars.....

As people we change as we get older, our tastes change and our personalities change due to the experiences we have in our varied lives..... My first favourite car as early as i can remember was a ford Capri... (yes I am over forty years old! )

My first favourite drink was cider (bear with this it will make sense I promise!) at this time my dad drank beer, I couldn't stand the taste and thought there was no way I will ever drink that stuff! I then got to like beer (a little too much some might say) and my Dad moved onto red wine, again I couldn't stand the taste and thought there is no way I am ever going to drink that stuff...

Much like my taste in cars there are few alcoholic drinks I don't like now....
I have owned luxury cars, Jaguar XJ6, Granada Ghia x, Audi A6. I have owned 4x4's Discovery, Toyota Surf, Jeep, Isuzu Trooper. I have owned fast cars, Nissan 300zx, Nissan Skyline, Mitsubishi FTO, RS turbo Escort.

The favourite car grew from the Ford Capri to the Lamborghini Diablo and having had a track day in the Diablo I thought the car bucket list was well and truly ticked....

Little did I know.... The E type has always held a certain fascination for me due to its history and unbelievably sexy shape.. But I never thought i would get the chance... Until yesterday....

It's totally changed my perspective on any car ever made, it is the pinnacle of design, engineering and so beautifully British .... Whizzing along the leafy avenues, heads turning everywhere we went I felt like a sober Charlie Sheen leaving rehab for the fifth time this month, I was a millionaire, I could do anything now I was holding this steering wheel in my hands, I ruled the world....

A few roundabouts later, still turning heads I was no longer a playboy, I was sharing the same view that so many race winners had in the past, I was a Le Mans winner, I was a World Champion and my name would be of legend in years to come, all thanks to this stunning motor vehicle.

They say smiling is contagious, if that's the case then I started a UK epidemic of seismic proportions..... A pandemic..... If you smiled yesterday and weren't sure why it was because of me and the E Type, it is that good.

Never before has a car gotten so deep under my skin, I have to own one.

I no longer like cars, my name is John and I am a Jag -aholic, I am addicted to the E Type Jaguar, ...forever......

If you have ever considered driving one go do it now, Vanilla can make dreams you didn't know you had come alive just by handing you a set of car keys....

But beware, I warn you in advance ....you will never ever get over it....."

Lord Riley strikes again

Posted by @ 16:13 24th Aug 2012

Thanks, we did enjoy (the Riley) a lot. A real old-fashioned driving experience, very physical - almost like riding a horse! It is hard to explain it but this type of driving is much more enjoyable. Perhaps because it is you who control the entire process, not ABS, computers etc.

Sorry we did not fill out the questionnaire (did not have a pen(!) and run out of time) but everything was excellent, top scores on all questions.

Cheers,
Ruben

Riley - Birthday treat

Posted by @ 09:09 3rd Aug 2012

"I wanted to do something special for my husband's 60th birthday and went through all the usual ideas but nothing seemed "right".
Hot Air Balloon Ride...Scared of Heights!
Train Driver for the day?...Nah!
Boat on the Thames at Henley?...Don't like boats
Big Family Party?...Too much hassle
So it went on..and on...and on..
Then a chance article in a national newspaper led me indirectly to Vanilla Classics PERFECT!
But what car?
After a visit to see the cars for himself he chose the Riley RMD.
O, what a day we had! This, for someone used to the pampered cars of today, was an experience of what actually "driving a car" really felt like.
The car was beautifully turned out, chrome shining and paintwork gleaming and we felt priviledged to be given the opportunity to take her out for the day.
Little boys waved at us and the car received many admiring looks. (Not us..the car!) We felt very special and it was definately the right choice, the best present, that I could have given to my husband. It wasn't a passive experience, it was a full on whole body workout, both mentally and physically and enjoyed to the full. Thanks to everyone at Vanilla Classics for making all this possible and the memories that we have taken along with us will last for a very long time to come. Much better than a balloon ride!
Here is a pic of Jo with the Riley..A Very Happy Birthday."

"Just a quick note to say thank you and what a wonderful time we had in the Austin Healey over the weekend.

We were lucky enough to avoid all the showers and had a marvellous time touring the New Forest. Celine and I actually got engaged over the weekend and the car, for me anyway, made the whole occasion even more special.

I shall make sure I pass the details of Vanilla Classics onto the many friends who enquired where they can hire such a car. I have one friend who is definitely interested in the split screen VW.

Once again many thanks. We hope to see you again."

Riley RMD re-christened 'Lord Riley' Classic Car Weekend

Posted by @ 13:04 25th Jun 2012

Hi Claire and Jax, I hope you weren't laughing too hard when I drove off in the Jeep, took me a while to get used to power steering again!!!

I would sum up our experience as follows...

Car technology has come on a long way since 1949 but I now know we have lost a lot of the true pleasure of driving. I would quantify
that by saying,
• modern cars are a lot faster = you miss the spectacular countryside you drive through
• everything modern is servo assisted or computer controlled = are you really driving, or is the car doing all the fun bits for you?
• modern cars are efficient and aerodynamic = they all look the same and have little or no personality whatsoever....

You often see "classic" cars being driven around ... slowly. They require a large budget, patience and physical strength, but now I know
why people do it, the challenge, the fun, the true feeling of "driving", the history and the nostalgia.

I knew I would enjoy the experience but I had no way of knowing how much I would love it, we had an amazing time with "Lord Riley"
and now see him as an old friend, who looked after us extremely well and was fantastic company on our journey.
Budget and time restraints mean I may never own my own classic, but we will never forget a truly memorable experience and cant thank you
enough for providing the opportunity for us to share in something very few people will ever get to do....

On the Feedback sheet I would rate everything as a 1, you guys were brilliant at every step....

A little about me ...
I am 44
Senior manager in Lloyds
Found you on the Internet
Have already recommended you to others!!
Develop? hmm tricky one, the cars you have cover most eras and most tastes .. keep doing what you are.. it clearly works!!
Highlights were everything - from start to finish.
The only lowlight was when it was time to give "Lord Riley" back
Factors that contributed to our choice were ...driving something different, something you don't see on the road every day.

We wanted an experience that would make us feel special - we underestimated how special that would be .. by a lot

It was lovely to meet you both, and I really wish we lived closer, I would help Jax with all the cleaning !!!
Thanks for your support and an excellent service experience from start to finish

Warmest regards to you both

John and Sally
xx

This piece bought back in vivid detail our experience with the Riley RMD. The effort needed both mentally and physically to drive this car and the joy and sense of achievment at the end of the day that made it worth it. I think I will send in a pic and note about our day now.

Queen's Silver Jubilee Hire, Frogeye Sprite

Posted by @ 11:20 6th Jun 2012

"Hi Claire, Jax and all the folk at Vanilla Classics/ Splits that work so hard to make memorable, fun and trouble free the time spent with your wonderful collection.
As promised attached are photos of the E-Type and Cobra from October last year when Gill and I organised a week of surprises for each other.
Also attached are photos of the Frogeye from this, our brilliant 4 day (Jubilee) weekend - a break that we both deserved after working solidly, often 7 days a week since I bought my business in January.
We hope you like them and can use one or two.
We will be sad to give back the Frogeye tonight as of the three cars, it has been our favourite. The next thing is how/when we can afford to buy one of our own!

Burpham Classic Car Show - can't wait!!

RACING LEGEND
JOHN SURTEES IN ASSOCIATION WITH BMRC CLASSICS 2012
Sunday 2nd September 2012
The Cricket Pitch, Burpham, Nr. Arundel, West Sussex BN18 9RR

Burpham Motor Racing Club (BMRC) is holding its third Classic Car and Motorbike Show in Burpham near Arundel, West Sussex on Sunday 2nd September 2012. This year, we are proud to announce that John Surtees will be in attendance, and the show will be in support of his charity, The Henry Surtees Foundation. We will be honored with a fly past from the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, a Lancaster Bomber, Hurricane and Spitfire.

For this unique event, John & the BMRC will be bringing together a stunning collection of his racing cars and motorbikes to create a special Formula 1 Paddock to celebrate his racing career. Also in paddock we shall have Michael Schumacher's F1 2006 Ferrari show car on display and in addition, members of the public will get the chance to experience the pressure of a timed F1 wheel change in The Pit Stop Challenge, with the fastest change of the day winning a prize. The Vintage Mobile Cinema will also show a marvelous collection of motor films through out the day including a short documentary on John Surtees, and as a special feature, “Dream Rides” offers the public the chance to ride in the car of their dreams on a ten-mile trip in return for a donation to The Henry Surtees Foundation.

Over 200 fabulous classic cars and motorbikes bikes will be on display, from Vintage vehicles from the 30’s to Future Classics. We are also delighted that the Ferrari Owners Cub will be joining us too with a magnificent parade of their super cars. This year we are looking to celebrate a few birthdays too, including Lotus’s 60th anniversary, 40 years of the Sprite, MGB’s 50th anniversary and of course the style icon that is the Cortina! There will also be a collection of historic Police vehicles on display as part of Sussex Police’s Bike Safe initiative. There will be judging and prizes for both cars and motorbikes, in three main classes: Pride of Ownership, the Crème de la Crème, (as close to the original as possible), Spirit, for projects celebrating personal restoration challenges and those that are most used, and finally Best in Show, a special prize where members of the public will vote for their favorite car and motorbike. For those wishing to enter a Classic Car or Bike, Entry Forms can be downloaded from the link: www.thebmrc.com.

Every year we celebrate a decade; this year, the “Festival of the 40’s” will feature a full size Mk 9 Spitfire, (a photo opportunity if ever there was one!), as well as a wonderful collection of military vehicles. Acclaimed dancers “Jive Swing” will be offering free lessons by our Tea Dance Tent, as well as putting on a stunning cabaret of Jitterbug and Lindy hop. Live music will be provided by “The Three Bells”, a 1940s vocal trio inspired by The Andrews Sisters, as well as the legends that are “The Gents”, whilst “Viv the Spiv” will host and compare. And there’s plenty of opportunity to get into that vintage look too with The Vintage Hair Lounge, Eye Spy glasses and the Revival Clothing Company.

We will also have “The Village”, tented marquees and outside pitches, with high quality exhibitors dealing in everything from stunning classic motorbikes to quality car care products, beautiful jewelry to fine country clothing. And our fabulous street food outlets will serve you throughout the day, including Daisy Dukes Airstream Diner, The Well Kneaded Wagon serving delicious pizzas, Forest Hogs the superior hog roast catering company and Daisy, the beautiful vintage ice cream van. Monkshood will provide a range of specialty, selectively sourced gourmet coffee and teas, and also a traditional bar, everything in fact to tickle your taste buds! There’s plenty of activity for the little ones too, including hands on workshops and the “Blackboard Car” – literally a vintage car painted in blackboard paint that children can scrawl on to their hearts content! We shall also feature miniature Dragster racing for kids, and a full size dragster on display from Santa Pod Raceway.

Advance tickets will go on sale soon through www.seetickets.com and the BMRC website at www.thebmrc.com.

Consecutive hires of the Cobra and E-Type Jag

Posted by @ 11:07 14th Nov 2011

To all at Vanilla Classics,

Re: hire of Cobra 10-12 October & E-Type 12-16 October 2011

Apologies that it has taken us so long to send the feedback form which is enclosed.

We had a really wonderful time which I'm sure Jax can confirm by the HUGE grins on our faces.

Both cars made our week of surprises very special indeed, not least because of the fabulous condition they were both presented in and their faultless mechanical condition which meant that we had virtually no problems.

.......One thing we do know is that we will be back to see you again. We both fancy a day with the Mini Cooper S (I did notice on your website when you click on the More Info button it says it is a convertible!) (Oops! We'll get this changed, 10 out of 10 for observation)

Thank you all for making our week so special. By the end we were both on surprise overload but we were successful in our aim, which was to leave our normal lives behind and live a wonderful dream.

From Jonathan & Gill :)

Miss Marple, 1952 Morris Minor heads to the Isle of Wight

Posted by @ 16:39 20th Sep 2011

"My girlfriend and I borrowed Miss Marple for a few days last week and went across to the Isle of Wight.

All three of us had a wonderful time: the sun was out, the roof was down and the winding backroads were a pleasure to pootle along on.

Driving a car that was more than twice as old as me was a new experience - one that I could certainly get used to.

The service we got at Vanilla Classics was also great. There aren't mounds of paperwork such as you get at a modern car rental firm, and the staff obviously have a passion for what they do. If you have a few days off work you could certainly do worse than taking a Morris Minor out.

We'll certainly be back, unless I can convince my better half that we should adopt our very own Minor on a permanent basis. I am working on it..."

The Mini Cooper is nicknamed 'Monty'!

Posted by @ 11:07 4th Aug 2011

"1964 Mini Cooper S
I’m not sure that there is more fun to be found on four wheels than in this beautiful 1964 Mini Cooper S. I hired it as a surprise for my wife from www.vanillaclassics.com, check out the rest of their lovely fleet. They’ve got a fantastic set up in the heart of the beautiful Sussex countryside.

Jacqueline later admitted that as we approached Vanilla Classics she thought.. “He’s bought another bike” but she was soon smiling when she saw “Monty”.

This is one of only 963 cars built with the 970cc engine, the first Cooper S, designed by Alec Issigonis and fettled by John Cooper. The car is in remarkable condition for a 47 year old and puts out a healthy 65bhp @ 6500rpm with a heady top speed of 82mph."

"Just a quick note to say thank you for the way in which you treated us, like we were the only customer - its not very often you get service that you can praise therefore think its certainly worthy of a mention. Tristan certainly had the shock of his life (and did drive a little bit!!). He had a whale of a time. Thanks once again"

Looking forward to the next time!

E-Type Jaguar April Wedding

Posted by @ 15:42 20th Jul 2011

Hi Claire,

Please find attached a few pics including your car. I included the one of me in the car purely because before our wedding day i was quite concerned how i'd get in / if i'd fit with my dress!! No problem at all, so thought this may reassure prospective brides too!? I don't know if you remember but we had booked another Etype for our wedding, but it broke down on the thursday before our wedding on the saturday, so finding yours really saved the day AND it was a soft top, which the other wasn't which was a bonus! So many many thanks!

Nicola and Ian Shervell

PS i'm almost certain we won't be in the financial situation to afford it, but if in the future you decided to sell it, please do let us know!

Prom made extra special with the help of the Rolls Royce

Posted by @ 09:56 5th Jul 2011

"Please find attached some photos of Emma's Prom. I hope they put as big a smile on your face as your fabulous Rolls Royce did on all of ours.

I know from the way Emma ran out of the house, still in her pyjamas, when I arrived home how thrilled she was to see such a lovely car pull up to take her to her Prom. It was all we could do to persuade her to finish off getting ready.
Without doubt your Rolls Royce was one of the highlights, if not the highlight of Emma's evening.

The Rolls Royce was beautifully presented and prepared, it was everything I expected it to be, if not more. A remarkable feat for a vehicle that is over 30 years old and it is testament to the commitment and care that you obviously take when looking after such a wonderful Car.

I apologise in advance about the quality of the photos, both my wife and I are still coming to terms with the digital camera and I'm sorry that I spelt both your names wrong in the note I left for you, you'll just have to put that down to yet another gaff along with not putting the aerial up on the Rolls and then wondering why the radio wouldn't work ? As my kids would say 'Epic Fail' or ..... Doh !

I hope you receive the photos OK, and explain to Jax that I've now found another reason to put a suit on !

Just leaves me to Thank You ALL so much again for your help, the loan of your Rolls Royce certainly made it a night none of us will ever forget."

Cheers
Piers.

Vanilla Classics help with a proposal

Posted by @ 16:29 13th Jun 2011

Henry contacted us recently and booked the E-Type Jag for a very special day! We were in on the secret from the start as Henry explained that he was planning on proposing to his girlfriend and needed a cover story. Henry is a professional photographer, and a very good one at that judging from his website http://henry-stuart.co.uk/

So the story was...Henry had been asked by the Spread Eagle Hotel, Midhurst to take some photos and we were supplying a Classic Car in exchange for some shots! Jax stuck to the script beautifully when handing over the car to them, in Henry's words "Thank you so much Jax for making this so special"

'What were the highlights of your Vanilla Classics Experience?" 'She said YES!!'

Congratulations Sue & Henry from the Dream Team at Vanilla Classics!!

Wonderful photographs!

Posted by @ 10:53 26th May 2011

Shirley and Nigel had a day out in the Healey and have kindly sent us some great photos and lovely feedback.

"We had a fabulous day - Nigel said it was "..great fun..!" We couldn't have wished for better weather - just as well as I dont think we could have managed putting the roof on and taking it off again!!

Many thanks to Jax for her enthusiastic and friendly greeting and for taking Nigel through the ropes of driving the Austin. At the end of the day, he had a few aches and pains but really appreciated getting back into his car with all its modern labour saving devices. Its what my Dad would have called "proper driving!"

From start to finish, it was an incredible experience and certainly one I would recommend to anyone who will listen. From the initial phone call to ask questions and make the booking, the fantastic idea of producing the mock MOT certificate as the gift ticket, the confirmation email from you and your help when I rang last week about paying the deposit monies, to the welcome on Saturday and the great support available re the AA card etc in the boot (thankfully not needed but comforting to know it was there if we did). Again, feel free to add these comments to any feedback records/guest book you may use."

Best wishes to you all

They would like to recommend the New Forest / Isle of Wight run (route 4 on our website)

"The photo was taken on the A3055 between Freshwater and Ventnor on the Isle of Wight.
We stayed at the Lulworth Cove Inn at West Lulworth and the Ventnor Towers Hotel on the island. I'd recommend both.
And your cheque arrived this morning (21/05). Very prompt."

Pink Floyd Drummer joins Classic Car Fund

Posted by @ 15:39 18th Mar 2011

"Nick Mason, along with luxury car dealers and the designer of the McLaren F1 road car is helping to raise $50 million (£31 million) for the world's first classic car fund.

Mason, the drummer with Pink Floyd and long-term car enthusiast has joined IGA Automobile as they plan to dedicate $150 million to buy new vehicles. The move comes at a time when the market for classic cars has seen a huge increase, as demand for physical assets rises sharply. IGA Automobile noted that auction sales in 1994 were at £30 million, as opposed to the £422 million in 2009.

Former chairman of the British Racing Driver's Club and co founder of IGA Automobile told The Telegraph, "as people get fed up with paper assets they have gone back to physical assets. With emerging nations gaining more wealth there is increasing demand for cars. They are pieces of art."

The Guernsey-registered fund began canvassing investors at the start of the year. "We're looking for a straightforward in-and-out return on our assets," Nick Lancaster, a director of the fund said to Bloomberg, "this is the first classic car fund that's purely for financial returns, rather than passion."

The fund is particular, however, about the kind of people it wants to attract. The minimum investment is $500,000 (£310,000), so the rest of us will have to rely on classic car hire to enjoy the decadence of driving a piece of art."

Australians make automotive pilgrimage to England

Posted by @ 14:28 11th Mar 2011

"Australians with a fascination for British cars and culture are booking holidays to England in their droves, it has been reported.

As a result, vintage car hirehttp://www.vanillaclassics.com/  is on the increase as Aussie car-lovers book trips away to drive classic cars such as Austin Healeys, Jaguars and Rolls Royces around iconic locations of British motorsports - with Goodwood and Silverstone racetrack proving to be popular choices.

Sites of English history such as Glastonbury and Stonehenge are also faring well with the increase of tourism the new trend is providing.

"Many Australians enjoy a fascination for England and English cars in particular," motoring enthusiast John Cruwys told MICE News; calling such holidays "something that many people dream of."

Once it was originally thought that the love affair with classic cars was a quintessentially British trait, but now Australians are proving they have been won over by them too.

Whilst nobody knows exactly what drives this passion, James Bond's influence is said to rank highly.

Matt Thompson, the marketing director of Auto Trader, spoke to The RAC about the rising appeal of classic cars, claiming: "Brits are well known for their love affair with classic cars - but it's still surprising to see such sudden growth, especially at a traditionally quiet time of year for the motor industry."

Looking good at 50, the Jaguar E-Type celebrates

Posted by @ 12:55 4th Mar 2011

"One of the most iconic and fantasised about cars on our roads is celebrating its 50th birthday, The Guardian reported.

The classic E-type Jaguar may be half a century young, but, as original test driver Norman Dewis says: "Even today, you take this car out and people will not walk by it. They will always stop and look at it."

In this economic climate, classic car hire<http://www.vanillaclassics.com/> is the more affordable way for motorists to achieve their dream of handling such a desirable car; however back in 1961, the E-type was launched at a "just-about-accessible" price of £2,000 and the public loved it.

Designed by Malcolm Sayer, it was the first car to use large-scale production based on the principles of aircraft engineering. Mr Dewis recalled the shape was due to Sayer's mathematical talent and a ball of wool.

"We did the testing first in the wind tunnel but we found a slight discrepancy between those results and what you get on the road. So we called in at a wool shop on the way to the test track and [stuck] four-inch lengths of wool to the car."

The car is considered such a design classic that it is being exhibited at the Design Museum in London until early March, BBC News reported.

Other celebrations will take place throughout the year, including an event at the Jaguar Exhibition Hall in Coventry on April 2nd."

Rolls Royce' Spirit of Ecstasy turns 100

Posted by @ 14:48 1st Mar 2011

Rolls Royce's iconic hood ornament, the 'Spirit of Ecstasy', turned one-hundred-years-old recently, and the centenary was commemorated with a nostalgic motor parade in London, Auto Express reported.

One hundred Rolls Royce's of all models and ages were driven through the capital city in a tribute to the mascot. Spectators watched as a Springfield Phantom and Springfield Ghost drove past, joined by Silver Ghosts, Clouds, Shadows, Spurs and contemporary Phantoms.

The route passed through places of significance: Charles Rolls' birthplace in Mayfair, the current Rolls HQ in Berkeley Square, and the site on Brompton Road which is said to be the studio where the Ecstasy was created by sculptor Charles Sykes.

The Spirit of Ecstasy was copyrighted on 6 February, 1911. According to The New York Times, at the time Sykes received the commission, hood ornaments were something that motorists added themselves - often resembling tacky emblems or figurines.

Claude Johnson, the then-chief of Rolls Royce, wanted to stamp out the gaudiness and replace it with something classier. However, founder Henry Royce refused to adorn his car with Ecstasy, and Charles Rolls died before it was created.

Those whose wallets won't quite stretch permanently to a Rolls Royce can join in the celebrations by using a vintage car hire service; which allows drivers to enjoy the inimitable and unforgettable experience of driving the classic cars, without the financial burden that owning one brings.

Kate Middleton's Choice, will she opt for a Morris Minor?!

Posted by @ 14:24 23rd Feb 2011

News that Kate Middleton will be driven to her wedding ceremony not in a traditional horse and carriage, as be-fits a royal bride, but by a car will surely see a surge in wedding car hire.

The future Queen Catherine has opted for a simpler but classic arrival, according to the Daily Mail. An arrival that a senior royal aide has described as "dignified and stately." She and Prince William will return to Buckingham Palace in a glass carriage, enabling them to see and be seen by the thousands of well wishers lining the route.

Speculation is mounting as to the model of the car itself. Some commentators expect Miss Middleton to arrive in a vehicle from among the Queen's extensive fleet of cars. If this is true, Kate will have her pick of eight luxurious Rolls Royce, Bentley and Daimler state limousines.

Kate will be the first Windsor bride in almost half a century to travel to her wedding by car. Palace officials, in The Daily Mirror, deny an allergy to horses prompted the break in tradition.

Could Kate's decision finally mark the decline in popularity of the Cinderella coach as a wedding vehicle, which seems to be falling out of fashion following use by Katie Price, Kath & Kim and appearances on Channel 4's Big Fat Gypsy Weddings?

Classic cars have long been considered a much more elegant mode of transportation and vintage models can inject just as much magic and fairy dust into the proceedings as a pumpkin-style coach. Plus an engine is far more reliable and less likely to make you sneeze than a horse.

For those who want something a little funkier, the VW Campervan is fast becoming a popular alternative.

Wedding Fayre at De Vere New Place

Posted by @ 13:58 21st Feb 2011

The MGB Roadster (1973) along with Dougal, (1961 Split Screen Camper Van) went to a Wedding Fayre at the De Vere New Place in Shirrell Heath yesterday. The weather held and there was an excellent turn out.

Both vehicles were greatly admired and gave the future brides and grooms something to mull over - when most people think of a wedding car their first thoughts are of a horse and carriage or chauffeur driven Bentley! How special to be driven on your wedding day by one of your nearest and dearest as opposed to a complete stranger.

Morris Minor

Posted by @ 11:44 5th Jan 2011

Congratulations to Morris Minors everywhere! 0n 3rd January 1961, just over 50 years ago, the millionth car rolled off the production line.

An article in the Daily Telegraph on 03/01/11 stated "In the popular imagination the Morris Minor is the car of schoolmasters, district nurses, midwives, openly Anglican vicars, helpful rural grocers and men wearing hats who are, generally, not in a hurry. If the staid institution of English afternoon tea were motorised, it would look like this."

Our two 'Moggies', Miss Marple and Mr McGuiness, are extremely proud!

St Wilf's Charity Evening, Emsworth

Posted by @ 16:20 29th Nov 2010

Miss Marple, our Morris Minor convertible dating from 1952 volunteered herself as an auction lot at a fundraising event in Emsworth to help raise money for St Wilfred's Hospice and Macmillan Cancer Support. Well done to Dominic for organising the event and we look forward to meeting Richard who placed the winning bid and will be taking Miss Marple out for the day.

"Dear Claire,

I just wanted to take this opportunity once again to thank you for your very kind donation towards the fundraising event in memory of my mother, held at The Brookfield Hotel in Emsworth on November 20th.

The evening was very enjoyable and a great success, largely due to the wonderful prizes donated for the auction and raffle.

The event raised a total of £3,555, which will be very beneficial to these two great charities.

My father and I presented the cheque to Alison Moorey, the chief executive of St Wilfrid's, on Friday, and I just wanted to express our thanks on behalf of these two charities for helping to raise such a significant sum.

Please find attached a photo taken at the Hospice last Friday.

Kind regards.

Dominic"

Held in the immaculate grounds of Goodwood House, 12 miles from Vanilla Classics HQ. http://www.goodwood.co.uk/festival-of-speed/welcome.aspx

How about arriving in style in one of our very desirable cars? Or how about treating someone to a voucher as a Christmas present?

Laura is treating her husband, Craig, to a day out in the Classic Cobra for his birthday. A wonderful gift. They collected the car at 10 o'clock this morning and the sun has been shining the whole time.

Looking forward to hearing about their day when they return at 5pm this afternoon

And what a laugh we had, hamming it up big time in cravats, hats and purple velvet. An ideal choice to treat the whole family. Read Tim Moore's 'Continental Drifter' for an hilarious (and unerringly accurate) description of what it's like to sit behind the wheel of an old Roller for the first time.

Posted by Mike Ingram @ 22:14 1st Nov 2010

In "Continental Drifter" Tim Moore describes the Silver Shadow like this: "After heaving the door closed with a dungeon clunk, I vaguely centralised myself in the Chesterfield driver's seat and placed my hands at ten-to-two on a Bakelite hoop the diameter of a cartwheel. In front of me yawned a tapering bonnet topped by the Spirit of Ecstacy and flanked by little nascent fins... Behind was a dark and leathery railway compartment, beyond which an enormous boot sloped unhelpfully out of sight". Despite these

Another Happy Birthday

Posted by @ 14:42 20th Oct 2010

"So sorry it has taken so long to reply. Many thanks for all your help in making the arrangements for the Jag, Gary had a fabulous day and was absolutely beside himself when he saw the car - I think he was the envy of every man on the street! We had the roof down and cruised all around the South Downs, it was great. The B&B (The Orchard) that was on your list was also excellent and the owner, Mandie booked us in to the Earl of March for dinner so we had a wonderful day and evening! A really memorable trip.

Thanks so much for returning the deposit. We would recommend Vanilla Splits and Classics (and have done so already) to others. We are already contemplating hiring a VW camper for a weekend next year so I am sure we will be in contact again soon."

Best wishes,
Jennie

Just wanted to let you know that we had a fabulous day with the Jag. The weather could have been a little kinder but what the heck we had a great day. To be honest we thought the day was really good value for money and we will be back for more. I think it has got to be the Rolls Royce next time and then we can take our wives on a picnic in style.
Thanks again for a great day and thanks for letting us have the car from 0900.

Goodwood Revival Spring Clean

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1uW7m67mEOs

Goodwood Revival 2010 was top of our list to be seen at this year. We took 5 of our beautiful classic cars to show off, and WOW, what a busy show we had. The Austin Healey 100/6 and the Riley RMD set the scene, with our cheeky Mini Cooper S and our new Morris Minor Convertible really stealing the show. We also found room to have our 1965 Split Screen Camper, aka Mr McHenry on display.

A lot of work to do, but luckily for us, these fabulous ladies were on hand to keep our stand in tip top shape!

Hi Vanilla Classics, My wife treated me to a day out with your Sky Blue MGB Roadster, and I would like to say what a great day out it was. Thought you might like to see a couple of the shots I took of him in a layby on the way to Goodwood. The Best Birthday Ever

Posted by @ 14:05 6th May 2010

Mr Colin Hicklin celebrated a very special birthday on 02/05/10. His son, Oli, booked our Jaguar E-Type for him to drive for the day .

The whole family turned up at Goodwood Breakfast Club at 9am - Colin was totally unaware of what was about to happen. His other son phoned him and asked which cars he'd been looking at and proceeded to tell him that the Jag in front of him was his to take away to enjoy! After a quick burst of 'Happy Birthday' and a few tears he set off for what he later described as "The Best Birthday ever!"

How often do you get to drive an AC Cobra, and especially around such beautiful countryside as Bosham and the South Downs? I've wanted the chance to do this for years, and to hire such an amazing car as the AC Cobra really was something special. If you only do one thing this year - give yourself a treat and rent a classic car! Thanks Vanilla Classics - good job!
